Tamizhilil Sangamam
Tamizhilil Sangamam is an event where students enrich their language skills, speak fluently and confidently, and showcase their talents in various art forms.
Primary One: My Future
Primary One students start their journey sharing about themselves, their siblings, their family members, persons they like confidently, without hesitation and with enthusiasm in front of the class. Through this, students will certainly develop into fluent Tamil speakers who are able to communicate their ideas effectively.
Primary Two: Come, Let Us Sing
Primary Two students will expand their vocabulary through songs and by understanding their meanings, sing them with actions in a joyful environment.
Primary Three: Come, Let Us Tell Stories
Once a month, students will read suitable stories and then take part in activities such as summarizing them, giving reviews, learning new vocabulary, modifying the story and creating new stories.
Primary Four: Let Us Introduce and Get to Know
Once a month, students will introduce a well-known personality in front of the class. The aim of this activity is to develop students’ creativity, innovation, and thinking skills. This practice also helps prepare students for the “Let Us Advertise!” competition and encourages interest in learning Tamil in an engaging way.
Primary Five: Let’s Create Jingles! Let’s Sing!
Once every two months, Primary Five students will compose song lyrics based on a chosen theme. These lyrics should convey positive ideas and values. Students will then set their lyrics to a tune and practice singing the songs they have written.
Primary Six: Listen, for I speak with purpose
Students will create once a term presentations based on stories they have read or news excerpts. This activity helps improve students’ speaking skills and gives them the confidence to participate in oratorical competitions with self-assurance.
Let’s Read
For Primary One and Two students, the teacher will narrate stories using a big book. Students will actively participate with enthusiasm in related activities set in a joyful environment, such as discussions and dramatizations.
Students from Primary Three to Primary Six will participate in reading activities once every two weeks. They will use resources such as storybooks and the Sutti Mayil monthly magazine.
