Our Mission
Development of skills and competencies
The aesthetics programmes of Si Ling Primary School revolve around the 3 Es (Exposure, Experience and Excellence).
At the Exposure level, all students are exposed to various forms of the arts, through assembly talks, learning journeys and concert trips. In their Art journey, students are exposed to diverse mediums, focusing on cognitive development through the use of new media. Musically, students develop vocal and instrumental proficiency, nurture creative expression, and cultivate an appreciation for music from around the world.
At the Experience level, students’ artistic and musical horizons are broadened, engaging them with a variety of artmaking and musicking opportunities. These opportunities build both important technical and inquiry skills, enabling students to observe and perceive their worlds with increased awareness and aesthetic sensitivity. Beyond the curriculum, we provide opportunities to apply skills learnt in real world contexts through Recess Music Jamming and various inter-level Art competitions.
At the Excellence level, students are given platforms and opportunities to showcase and stretch their talents through school-based and external competitions. Artistically, we develop talent and deepen mastery through collaboration with Singapore Artists and participation in SYF Competitions. Musically, students are given performance opportunities that both celebrate musical achievement and promote the development of musicianship.
